What are Deadlocks?

Invented by Jeremiah and Charles Chubb in the early 19th century, the deadlock is a lock that can only be opened with a key when in deadlock mode. Typically, deadlocks have keyholes on both sides, meaning you need a key to exit if locked inside.

In deadlock mode, the lock is inoperable, making it harder for intruders to enter or escape. However, they should be used cautiously, as keeping the lock in deadlock mode can hinder a quick exit in an emergency. Always have your keys accessible and ensure everyone knows where they are.
